John McDouglas

Ever heard of John McDouglas? Probably not. He was an Italian actor who was more known as Giuseppe Addobbati. Although McDouglas had an extensive filmography of Italian films and TV appearances, probably the most famous movie he appeared in was Nightmare Castle. Also known as Amanti d'Oltretomba, this gothic horror flick was released in 1965 and featured Barbara Steele, the English actress who became famous as the scream queen of Italian horror films.

John McDouglas also worked with Academy Award winner Jack Palance in the 1969 film A Bullet for Romeo. His other films include One on Top of the Other, Red Hot Shot, Massacre Time, Degueyo, Colorado Charlie, Oklahoma John, Blood for a Silver Dollar, Ride and Kill, The Vampire of the Opera, Messalina vs. the Son of Hercules, Guns of Nevada, Hercules Against the Mongols, Jacob: The Man Who Fought with God, and the Magnificent Three.



These are merely some of the films in which he worked as John McDouglas. His other movies where he was known as Giuseppe Addobbati forms a much longer lists and spans five decades.

John McDouglas was born in in 1909 in Dalmatie, Yugoslavia and died in 1986 in Rome, Italy. He may not have been famous enough to get a Wikipedia entry but his extensive body of works speaks for his enormous experience and contribution to the film industry.
